Smile Remodels & Digital Dentistry FAQs
When scoping out a new dental office, you can have many questions. Below you’ll find our answers to some of the most frequently asked dental questions that we get from our patients. If you have others that aren’t listed here, feel free to contact us.
+ How often should I see the dentist?
We recommend coming in at least twice every year for a checkup and cleaning. During these appointments, Dr. Susman removes plaque and tartar buildup, which prevents future oral problems. He also looks for any existing issues, allowing him to catch them before they cause pain or damage to your smile.
+ Do you treat children?
Absolutely! We love to help young patients learn how to take care of their smiles. Our friendly team will take the time to make your child feel comfortable and teach them healthy oral habits. That way, they can keep their natural smile strong for a lifetime.
+ Do you offer same-day emergency appointments?
We certainly do. If you have a dental emergency, contact our team right away! We are usually able to see patients on the same day as their phone call, and for those who require a root canal, we can complete treatment in one visit.
+ Why would I need a root canal?
A root canal becomes necessary when bacteria gain access to the inner chamber of the tooth. This can happen because of a cavity or dental injury. If Dr. Susman believes that a root canal is necessary, you can bet that he will explain your situation and your treatment options clearly.
+ Does a root canal hurt?
Dr. Susman has over 30 years of experience and has performed over 7,000 root canals. As a result, you don’t need to be afraid of getting a root canal with him. In some cases, a patient may feel pain before a root canal is performed, but Dr. Susman uses this procedure to relieve pain and save the natural tooth from needing to be extracted.
+ How can snoring be dangerous?
Not everyone who snores has sleep apnea, but snoring is a common symptom of this condition. If left untreated, sleep apnea can lead to several health complications, including high blood pressure and daytime drowsiness and fatigue. Dr. Susman can provide treatment that allows you, and your partner, to get more restful sleep.
+ Do you accept dental insurance?
Yes, we do! We accept many insurance plans, including MetLife, Aetna, Cigna, BlueCross BlueShield of Oklahoma, and more, and we can help you maximize your benefits. To learn if we accept your specific dental insurance, contact our team.
